My Fall Exchange

I completed my Fall exchange and it is in the mail, finally.  We had issues with two of the cockers eating the patterns and some of the thread.  While they were on the paper binge, they destroyed 3 cookbooks and 2 Harry Potter books.  They are rescue dogs and they were almost put up for adoption. I chose a Bent Creek pattern called "The Little House". I used DMC threads and used fabric in my stash.  I finished it as a little pillow with 2 colors of beads caught in the stitching around the edge.

Biscornu Received

This is the front and back of my biscornu from
Lillie in Malaysia.  It is absolutely beautiful.  I love it and it goes so well with all of my needlework that I have displayed.  It was a freebie and Lillie got it  a long time back and she doesn't remember the designer or the name of the pattern.  It is stitched on evenweave with 712 DMC Floss.  Thank you so much Lillie!!!!

This is the biscornu I stitched for Juanice.  It is called Tulips from the Spring Biscornu Stackers designed by Jeannette Douglas.  It is stitched on 32 ct. Wichelt Lambswool using the suggested threads.  It was fun to do and I always love how they turn out.  I apologize for the light colors but the threads were so pale.

Christmas Ornament

This is a picture of the sweet Christmas ornament that I received from Kim.  She did not tell me its name, designer, etc. I think it is from a JCS Christmas issue.  I love it and it will look great on our tree during the holidays.  Thank you Kim.
Getting ready to go play for a wedding. I will be playing "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Bach on my violin.  I will have fun doing that.  Wishing everyone a great week.

My Christmas ornament is in the mail. I used one of Sharon Bennett's little reindeer patterns.  I just love them and I never get tired of stitching them.  The pattern is called Ribbon Reindeer. Instead of stitching the ribbon with thread I used beads. I used 28count fabric which is was in my stash and used the suggested threads. I made it into a little hanging pillow. I'm practicing using Marie P.'s method of stitching corners. I'll post a picture when it arrives in its new home.

Halloween Exchange Sent

I have been gone for a week with work and work has had me so busy that my stitching time was very little.  I was late sending my Halloween exchange but it is in the mail and hopefully will get to a new home soon.

The pattern I used was the Heart in Hand autumn celebration.  I added the smile and eyes to the little pumpkin.  I love this pattern and have always wanted to do it so I made it for my Halloween exchange partner.  I used the suggested threads and I love the colors.
This is my Halloween HoE from Sandy.  It is in delightful colors and I love it.  It is hanging on my tree in our entry.  Thank you so much Sandy.

Received Exchange from Leigh

This is the darling Santa that I received from Leigh.  She did a wonderful job and I absolutely love it.  I don't have a Prairie Schooler Santa like this one so now my collection begins.  I'm a music teacher so I love the partidge in the pear tree.

When my exchange partner receives their exchange I will post a picture.

Becky's Ornament is Completed and Delivered

Becky and I are good friends and we live in the same city.  I drew her name for the Stitcher's Choice Christmas ornament.  I stitched it twice because I messed up the first one when I tried to change it and ruined it.  So I stitched it again and we had medical issues in the family and that slowed me down.  But I had so much fun making it for her.  She has a cat and I chose a cat ornament that I had loved in the 2002 Christmas issue.  I changed the colors to match Tobey's colors and I used purple eyes and purple threads for the ribbon on his tail.  My photo is not the best.  I can't blame the camera, I believe it is the owner. :)

Our Robin Eggs Have Hatched

A few weeks ago I realized that there was a bird nest in my hanging pocket wreath.  There were four beautiful blue robin eggs.  Then last week I realized there were robins in the nest.  I counted three and they are getting big.  Last year we had a nest on our wreath but it wasn't a robin.  We have had such cold weather for April and May that I was afraid something would happen to them.  I get up at 4a.m. to have my morning coffee, read the paper, and get ready for school  I have an hours commute so I leave by 6:30a.m.  Each morning I open the door the mother robin flies away in a flutter and I jump a foot.  You would think after a couple of times I wouldn't be startled but alas no.

Nature is always interesting and our feathered friends grow so fast and are on their own in no time.

I'm sneezing and snorting because I mowed the lawn this evening.  It is good stress relief from the final days of the school year.  We are all ready for a break from one another.  I plan to bake, stitch, and enjoy time with my sweet husband.  He just bought me a new Kitchen Aid 7 1/2 quart mixer to make my wonderful chocolate chip cookies and what ever else I want to whip up.  Cooks need the right equipment! :)  Enjoy the rest of your evening!!!!!!

Received Lizzie Kate HoE

I received my LK HoE ornament from Marie. It is Joy from "Tiny Tidings XII".  It is lovely.  She finished it with a blanket stitch which I have always loved.  It will look perfect on my little Christmas tree in Dec. and that will be here before we know it. :)

I now can upload pictures to my blog so I will include a snapshot.  Thank you so much Marie.

School is going fast and furious and I have so much to do before the year is out. HELP!!!!!!!  We were finished with our accreditation the end of February and I have been on a team that worked at another school in Oklahoma City.  Spring break came and went and now we are on the downward slide.  Kids are staying pretty focused and that is great.  I have 4 Masses during April and the children are sharing in music during those Masses.  They are 1st and 2nd graders so we started early to get them ready.  They are doing well and I am very pleased.  I love teaching school.

My sweet husband cleaned, dusted, and mopped today while I was in Tulsa so I GET TO STITCH!!!!!!  That was a great surprise for me.  But I did buy the oil so he could change the oil in our car.

Have a great week and I will try to not wait so long to post.  Things have been wild.  Blessing to all.

Rosa Received Her Ornament

I received my ornament first and I had a little chuckle because Rosa and I had each other's name.  With my crazy schedule it is a wonder I was able to finish hers.  I stitched the Homespun Elegance 2006 Sampler Ornament "Watchful Angel".  It is stitched on 28 ct. "18th Century Brown" linen using DMC, WDW, and Sampler Threads.  It was great fun to do. I finished it with chenille. It was very enjoyable to stitch.  I would insert a picture but blogger is having issues with downloading pictures.  I will come back and insert one when I am able.

We are on the downhill slide for our accreditation.  I feel like I should just camp out at school.  There is still so much to do like double checking everything and making sure we haven't forgotten one jot or tittle.

Woo-hoo "Downton Abbey" Season 3 started last night and it was great.  I love that era.  Good stitching show. :)

Gary and I have had a bug and now have recuperated.  Nothing makes you feel better than regaining your good health.  Peace and Blessing to all at the beginning of this New Year!!!!

My sweet little Santa hung on my small tree in our entry way.

My beautiful pendant.  Can't wait to wear it.

Received Seasonal Exchange

I received a very cute and sparkly autumn exchange from Lisa S.  It is stitched on 28 ct tea dyed linen and she used the recommended threads.  I love it.  It is a stand up exchange and it looks so good with my autumn decorations.
I was late posting because I have a terrible inner ear infection that has knocked me for a loop.  I think it is getting better but I want to be healed yesterday. :)  It is hard for the music teacher to have ear problems.  I have two Christmas programs to get ready and with the school doing all of the extra work preparing for our accreditation visit, I am having a hard time.  But I will prevail.
