We had issues with two of the cockers eating the patterns and some of the thread. While they were on the paper binge, they destroyed 3 cookbooks and 2 Harry Potter books. They are rescue dogs and they were almost put up for adoption. I chose a Bent Creek pattern called "The Little House". I used DMC threads and used fabric in my stash. I finished it as a little pillow with 2 colors of beads caught in the stitching around the edge.
This is the front and back of my biscornu from
Lillie in Malaysia. It is absolutely beautiful. I love it and it goes so well with all of my needlework that I have displayed. It was a freebie and Lillie got it a long time back and she doesn't remember the designer or the name of the pattern. It is stitched on evenweave with 712 DMC Floss. Thank you so much Lillie!!!!Lynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09321471699353100009noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3715002471394746523.post-75146906722243520692014-08-01T06:51:00.001-07:002014-08-01T06:51:11.344-07:00This is the biscornu I stitched for Juanice. It is called Tulips from the Spring Biscornu Stackers designed by Jeannette Douglas. It is stitched on 32 ct. Wichelt Lambswool using the suggested threads. It was fun to do and I always love how they turn out. I apologize for the light colors but the threads were so pale.
This is a picture of the sweet Christmas ornament that I received from Kim. She did not tell me its name, designer, etc. I think it is from a JCS Christmas issue. I love it and it will look great on our tree during the holidays. Thank you Kim.
Getting ready to go play for a wedding. I will be playing "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Bach on my violin. I will have fun doing that. Wishing everyone a great week. It is darling. It says Jolly and it has pretty pink ribbon ruching. I love it. It is from the most recent JCS Christmas ornie issue. Thank you Melissa. It is hanging on my little tree with my spring ornaments.Lynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09321471699353100009noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3715002471394746523.post-74757454499350140832014-04-14T22:03:00.000-07:002014-05-27T21:25:31.234-07:00My Christmas ornament is in the mail. I used one of Sharon Bennett's little reindeer patterns. I just love them and I never get tired of stitching them. The pattern is called Ribbon Reindeer. Instead of stitching the ribbon with thread I used beads. I used 28count fabric which is was in my stash and used the suggested threads. I made it into a little hanging pillow. I'm practicing using Marie P.'s method of stitching corners. I'll post a picture when it arrives in its new home.
The pattern I used was the Heart in Hand autumn celebration. I added the smile and eyes to the little pumpkin. I love this pattern and have always wanted to do it so I made it for my Halloween exchange partner. I used the suggested threads and I love the colors.

This is the darling Santa that I received from Leigh. She did a wonderful job and I absolutely love it. I don't have a Prairie Schooler Santa like this one so now my collection begins. I'm a music teacher so I love the partidge in the pear tree.
I drew her name for the Stitcher's Choice Christmas ornament. I stitched it twice because I messed up the first one when I tried to change it and ruined it. So I stitched it again and we had medical issues in the family and that slowed me down. But I had so much fun making it for her. She has a cat and I chose a cat ornament that I had loved in the 2002 Christmas issue. I changed the colors to match Tobey's colors and I used purple eyes and purple threads for the ribbon on his tail. My photo is not the best. I can't blame the camera, I believe it is the owner. :)
It was my Stitchers Choice ornie from Carol S. It is just precious and stitched so nicely. She puts me to shame. It is "Merry and Bright" from Erynne Chard. It is stitched on silkweaver 36ct solo using DMC, WDW, and CC floss.
There were four beautiful blue robin eggs. Then last week I realized there were robins in the nest. I counted three and they are getting big. Last year we had a nest on our wreath but it wasn't a robin. We have had such cold weather for April and May that I was afraid something would happen to them. I get up at 4a.m. to have my morning coffee, read the paper, and get ready for school I have an hours commute so I leave by 6:30a.m. Each morning I open the door the mother robin flies away in a flutter and I jump a foot. You would think after a couple of times I wouldn't be startled but alas no.
It is good stress relief from the final days of the school year. We are all ready for a break from one another. I plan to bake, stitch, and enjoy time with my sweet husband. He just bought me a new Kitchen Aid 7 1/2 quart mixer to make my wonderful chocolate chip cookies and what ever else I want to whip up. Cooks need the right equipment! :) Enjoy the rest of your evening!!!!!!

It is lovely. She finished it with a blanket stitch which I have always loved. It will look perfect on my little Christmas tree in Dec. and that will be here before we know it. :)

I now can upload pictures to my blog so I will include a snapshot. Thank you so much Marie.

School is going fast and furious and I have so much to do before the year is out. HELP!!!!!!! We were finished with our accreditation the end of February and I have been on a team that worked at another school in Oklahoma City. Spring break came and went and now we are on the downward slide. Kids are staying pretty focused and that is great. I have 4 Masses during April and the children are sharing in music during those Masses. They are 1st and 2nd graders so we started early to get them ready. They are doing well and I am very pleased. I love teaching school.

My sweet husband cleaned, dusted, and mopped today while I was in Tulsa so I GET TO STITCH!!!!!! That was a great surprise for me. But I did buy the oil so he could change the oil in our car.

Have a great week and I will try to not wait so long to post. Things have been wild. Blessing to all.
With my crazy schedule it is a wonder I was able to finish hers. I stitched the Homespun Elegance 2006 Sampler Ornament "Watchful Angel". It is stitched on 28 ct. "18th Century Brown" linen using DMC, WDW, and Sampler Threads. It was great fun to do. I finished it with chenille. It was very enjoyable to stitch. I would insert a picture but blogger is having issues with downloading pictures. I will come back and insert one when I am able.

We are on the downhill slide for our accreditation. I feel like I should just camp out at school. There is still so much to do like double checking everything and making sure we haven't forgotten one jot or tittle.

Woo-hoo "Downton Abbey" Season 3 started last night and it was great. I love that era. Good stitching show. :)
What a pleasant surprise. I am going today and get a chain for my necklace. I have several sweaters that it will enhance. I do appreciate the stitchers that I have met through our exchanges and it is always such a treat to see what they have created. Thank you so much Rosa.
I received a very cute and sparkly autumn exchange from Lisa S. It is stitched on 28 ct tea dyed linen and she used the recommended threads. I love it. It is a stand up exchange and it looks so good with my autumn decorations.
I was late posting because I have a terrible inner ear infection that has knocked me for a loop. I think it is getting better but I want to be healed yesterday. :) It is hard for the music teacher to have ear problems. I have two Christmas programs to get ready and with the school doing all of the extra work preparing for our accreditation visit, I am having a hard time. But I will prevail.Lynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09321471699353100009noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3715002471394746523.post-36953040646113591662012-11-02T10:37:00.001-07:002012-11-02T10:37:28.170-07:00What a WeekThis has been a week that I truly did meet myself coming and going. We celebrated All Saints Day at our school with the Bishop leading the Mass. We all kinds of special music with the hand chimes and the Honor Choir singing. But the best was one of our parents plays the bagpipe and stood at the back of the church and played "Amazing Grace" as the children exited in silence. My eyes filled with tears but I wasn't the only one. He was dressed in his kilt and it was a perfect ending to a great faith filled service.

I finished an exchange and a belated birthday gift for a dear friend. Right now time is very precious because I have so many things to do at the school during our accreditation process.

We are having Parent/Teacher Conferences so I did not have to go to school today. It has been good just to sit and stitch. Another good friend and I are headed to southern Oklahoma to visit our friend that moved there from Okmulgee.

Enjoy your weekend and "Go Cowboys"!!!!!!!
Life has been crazy for this old music teacher. We are going through accreditation at my school and I am a committee chair and so I have had lots of meetings and extra work to do besides teach. So life gets a little hectic sometime.
I used Daffycat's (Sharon Bennett) little Ribbon Reindeer pattern and Lindy Jane Designs, an Oklahoma Christmas pattern, I used opalescent fabric and the suggested threads. I finished them with beats around the edge and a fabric hanger from the fabric on the backs of the ornaments. I really enjoyed making these two ornaments. One is filled with some crushed walnuts shells and crushed lavender from my flower bed. The other is just flat, not filled.
I want to work on my finishing skills with projects for me but there never seems to be the time.
I have started a Becky Boo's Christmas angel with the hanging ornaments. I have done Halloween and July 4th. I would also like to do her Easter project. Do a few stitched everyday and they will get done. :) Lynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09321471699353100009noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3715002471394746523.post-65072588173743566282012-10-01T20:08:00.001-07:002012-10-01T20:08:15.487-07:00Received My Halloween Exchange

I received a precious"Little Owl Sampler" by Knotted Tree NeedleArt which was in the 2012 Just Cross Stitch Halloween Edition from Erin. I love it. Erin chose such cute fabric for the backing and finished it with purple ribbon. She included some cute sticky notes, hot chocolate, and some DMC Mouline thread. I will use all of it. It is hanging on my Halloween tree in our entry. It looks perfect with all of my other exchanges that I have received.Lynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09321471699353100009noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3715002471394746523.post-36230304593227061192012-10-01T20:01:00.000-07:002012-10-01T20:01:22.812-07:00Received My HoE Hometown Ornament

Two weeks ago my dear friend and stitching partner, Becky, presented me with this darling Christmas ornament. She changed the word Oklahoma to Okmulgee to personalize it. She chose a design from Mulberry Tree Graphics. She finished it with beads and a wire hanger. It is so pretty and I will truly treasure it.
I know you must be thinking: why has she waited so long to post this? If you knew how my school year is going you would not ask that question. First I am teaching 14 classes, so my days are filled to the brim. I am also heading a committee that is working on our school's accreditation. That is taking a bunch of my time. By the time I get home which has been between 6 and 7 or later and then I get up at 4 the next morning, that doesn't leave much time. My dh says, "I'm glad you stopped by to say hello!"Lynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09321471699353100009noreply@blogger.com0
